The Shrine of St Carlo Acutis - the First Millennial Saint

The aims of the Shrine Fund of the Parish of Blessed Carlo Acutis, Wolverhampton are:
Our shrine will be a place of pilgrimage for people from the UK and around the world to venerate Carlo’s relic, be inspired by his life and works and to make devotions. Children and young people will be invited to visit the shrine on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn from this amazing role model. Visitors will be able to book a visit on Saturday mornings.
Brief information about Carlo Acutis
Carlo was a computer wizard, loved computer games and football, as well as making films. In his short life he made many friends.
He was renowned for his charity work and his constant pursuit of holiness. He taught catechism classes, assisted the poor and served in soup kitchens. Carlo attended daily Mass and frequently Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Word of God and the Holy Eucharist were the centre of his life. Carlo was inspired to tell the story of Eucharistic miracles and encouraged others across the globe to be devoted to Christ via a website he designed:

Diagnosed with untreatable leukaemia aged just 15, Carlo died shortly after on 12th October 2015. His tomb is in Santa Maria Maggiore, Assisi.
He was designated Venerable in 2018, became Blessed on the 12th October 2020 and will be declared a saint on the 27th April 2025.

The aims of the Shrine Fund of the Parish of Blessed Carlo Acutis, Wolverhampton are:
- To develop a shrine to house the relic of Blessed Carlo in a chapel dedicated to him in St Michael’s RC Church (part of the parish of Blessed Carlo Acutis together with St Peter and St Paul, Wolverhampton and St Bernadette, Wombourne)
- To set up, at St Michael’s, an information and learning centre about Carlo with big screen video, photographs and activities
