Carlo was a computer wizard, loved computer games and football, as well as making films. In his short life he made many friends.
He was renowned for his charity work and his constant pursuit of holiness. He taught catechism classes, assisted the poor and served in soup kitchens. Carlo attended daily Mass and frequently Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Word of God and the Holy Eucharist were the centre of his life. Carlo was inspired to tell the story of Eucharistic miracles and encouraged others across the globe to be devoted to Christ via a website he designed:

Diagnosed with untreatable leukaemia aged just 15, Carlo died shortly after on 12th October 2015. His tomb is in Santa Maria Maggiore, Assisi.
He was designated Venerable in 2018, became Blessed on the 12th October 2020 and will be declared a saint on the 7th September 2025.

Following the canonisation of Carlo Acutis on 7 September 2025, we are delighted to welcome pilgrims, visitors, and parish groups to our shrine, where his relic is enshrined for veneration.This sacred space offers an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and deeper encounter with the life and witness of
St Carlo Acutis, a young saint whose devotion to the Eucharist and love for the Church continues to inspire people around the world.
A Place of Pilgrimage
The shrine provides a peaceful environment for prayer and contemplation, inviting visitors to reflect on the life of St Carlo Acutis and his example of holiness in everyday life. Whether visiting alone or as part of a group, all are welcome to spend time in prayer before his relic and encounter his inspiring witness to faith.

Group Pilgrimages
We warmly welcome organised pilgrim groups to visit the shrine. To ensure a meaningful and well-prepared experience, all group visits must be booked in advance by emailing sca@rcaob.org.uk. Once your booking is confirmed, we kindly ask that you discuss your visit with our team so we can support your pilgrimage and tailor the experience where possible.

A typical group visit may include
- Light refreshments, depending on the time and nature of your visit
- A short video presentation on his life, faith, and witness
- A period of Eucharistic Adoration (Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament), offering pilgrims a time of silent prayer and contemplation in the presence of Christ.
- A guided time of prayer before the relic of St Carlo Acutis
- Time for quiet reflection within the church
- An opportunity for interaction at the shrine, allowing visitors to learn more about St Carlo Acutis, ask questions, and engage with the story of his life and devotion.

Individuals are also welcome to visit the shrine during church opening hours. As opening times may vary, we kindly ask visitors to email sca@rcaob.org.uk or scan the QR code in advance to confirm availability before travelling.
