Sri Lanka Attacks (21/04/19)
Message from Archbishop Bernard Longley
“My thoughts and prayers, and those of the Catholic community and all people of goodwill in the Archdiocese of Birmingham, are with the victims of the attacks in the churches and hotels in Sri Lanka today. The fact that it happened during prayer on Easter morning makes it all the worse. But our faith in the Risen Lord tells us that nothing, not evil nor death itself, can overcome the power of the resurrection. I commend all those who have died to the loving mercy of God and those injured or bereaved to the protection of Mary, our Mother, and a witness to the Resurrection.”

Abortion Bill (2017-19)
Wolverhampton Deanery Briefing
Aaron, who recently left SS Peter and Paul to work in Parliament, has provided a briefing for the Wolverhampton Deanery on the Abortion Bill (2017-19) which is currently making its way through the House of Commons. This bill, which some have described as one of the most "extreme" yet, presents a very real threat to life.
Aaron has urged all Catholics to write to their local Member of Parliament (MP) against the proposals.

Prayer for the World Meeting of Families 2018
God our Father,
We are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,
One family, in the Spirit of your love.
Bless us with the joy of love.
Make us patient and kind,
Gentle and generous,
Welcoming to those in need.
Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.
Protect all families with your loving care,
Especially those for whom we now pray:
(We pause and remember family members and others by name).
Increase our faith,
Strengthen our hope,
Keep us safe in your love,
Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share.
This we ask through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Mary, mother and guide, pray for us.
Saint Joseph, father and protector, pray for us.
Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us.
Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, pray for us.

Why Remain Catholic?
Bishop Robert Barron
This video discusses extremely sensitive topics.
"Friends, in light of the recent scandals, I know many people are wondering whether they should remain in the Catholic Church. And I totally get that; the outrage is warranted. But in this time of crisis, I beg you not to flee, but to fight--not violently, with the weapons of the world, but with the weapons of the Spirit. We need you". - Bishop Robert Barron
