Parish Community Prayer
This prayer was composed by David Bench, a Seminarian for the Archdiocese of Birmingham, who is currently living at SS Peter and Paul.
Almighty ever-living God, our source of hope and salvation,
to whom we raise our hearts and minds during this holiest of weeks;
in faith we pray: just as you sent your only begotten Son to give everything for us,
even to His last breath on the cross,
grant that our parish community may discover ever deeper,
by the power of your resurrection,
how to stand tall in these days and live fully in service of others
as true children of God.
Through Christ Our Lord,
Amen.

Pope's Prayer to Mary for the Coronavirus Pandemic
Below is an adaptation of the prayer Pope Francis recited by video on the 11th March 2020 for a special Mass and act of prayer asking Mary to protect Italy and the world during of the coronavirus pandemic.
O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.
Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Angelus
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary... V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord. R. Be it done unto me according to Your Word. Hail Mary... V. And the Word was made flesh, R. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary... |
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord, Your Grace into our hearts; that as we have known the incarnation of Christ, your Son by the message of an angel, so by His passion and cross we may be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen. |
