Coronavirus Update

As there have been local cases of infection, the Diocese has asked that we move to Stage 2 of the Bishops' Conference Guidelines regarding the Coronavirus. So from today we will take the following precautions:

• Please sanitise your hands in the porch before you come into Church.
• At the sign of peace, we will bow to each other, rather than shaking hands.
• There will be no Holy Water in the porch. If you wish to have Holy Water, please bring an empty bottle for the priest to bless.
• For the time being, Holy Communion will only be administered under one kind.
• Extraordinary Minister of Communion are to wash their hands with soap before Mass and then when they come up to give Holy Communion, they are to sanitise their hands with the sanitiser on the Credence table.
• Holy Communion is to be given on the hand only. When receiving, please ensure your hand is flat.
• The collection bags will not be passed around the Church but Wardens will stand at the exits to collect your offerings.
• Hymn books and service cards will not be available. If you are given a hymn sheet or bulletin, you must take this away with you or throw it in the bin. It cannot be used again.
• Those with weakened immune systems and long term conditions (such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease) are advised to refrain from large parish gatherings.
• Anyone with cold and flu symptoms are asked to refrain from attending services and public events.
• There will be no catering or refreshments at parish gatherings, including after Mass.
