The Latest Updates...

Responding With Faith to the Coronavirus

14/3/2020

Please be aware of the most recent guidelines listed in the previous update (10.03.20).

Things to Remember
  • If you cannot attend Mass due to these measures, it is not a sin as you are being asked to do this by the church as an act of charity to yourself and your neighbour.
  • All Parish activities are continuing for those who can attend but there will be no refreshments provided for the time being.
  • Given that we are discouraging some people from attending Mass, it is important that we keep speaking by telephone to those who are staying at home so that we keep them involved in the life of the parish community.

How do we respond with faith to this situation?
  1. Pray. Spend time praying the Rosary, reading the Scriptures and other online resources.
  2. Trust that God is with you. Remember that Jesus understands our suffering and accompanies us in the most intimate of ways.
  3. Refrain from panic. Panic pulls you away from the help God wants to give you. It is not coming from God. The Holy Spirit stirs up courage, strength, and tranquility.
  4. Care for the sick. We obviously need to take necessary precautions but we do need to do what we can to help those who are isolated.
  5. Do not demonise anyone. Correct anyone who starts blaming individuals or groups for the outbreak of this virus.

Online Masses and Prayer Resources
For those unable to attend church, you can watch and listen to Mass using the button below or on the Home page of our website. Alternatively you can use the "prayer resources" button to pray at the time you would normally attend.
