There is a special pastoral letter from the Archbishop this weekend. It is being read at all the Masses and you can also watch a video or print out the text by clicking the link here. The parish bulletin is also ready and can be downloaded from the Home page.
Take a look at the highlights from each of the celebrations that took place across our three churches on Sunday. Many thanks to all those who helped make it such a fantastic day!

THE PARISH OF BLESSED CARLO ACUTIS WOLVERHAMPTON Founded 15th December 2020 O God, our Father, thank you for giving us Carlo, a model of life for young people, and a message of love for all. His love for your Son, Jesus, in the Eucharist, was his source of strength and his ‘highway to heaven’. You gave him Mary, as beloved Mother, and through the Rosary he sang the praises of her tenderness. Help us to imitate him by confirming our faith, nurturing our hope and strengthening our charity. Accept his prayer for us. Look above all upon the poor, whom he loved and assisted and through his intercession, may our parish become a vibrant community of missionary disciples, dedicated to the fruitful building of your Kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen. Tomorrow (Wed 29th Sep) is the patronal feast of St Michael's church. Mass will be celebrated at 6.30pm. The choir has been practicing a beautiful new Mass setting. Come along and join us!
This week's bulletin is ready to download from the home page. At St Michael's you will have seen that the builders have arrived to restore the Lady chapel into the main body of the church. Click below to see the architect's plan.
Above is a reconstruction (removed 23/03/22) of how Caesaria Philippi would have looked when Jesus visited it in today's Gospel. It was the source of the river Jordan and the temple complex was dedicated to the pagan god Pan. It is here that Jesus asks the disciples "who do you say I am?"
Just a quick reminder that you now find the bulletin on the home page of the website. Congratulations to Peter and Margaret from SS Peter & Paul who celebrate 65 years of marriage today on Our Lady's Birthday September 8th. Mass was offered for them at SS Peter & Paul's Church this morning and they were able to have a special blessing in their back garden in the glorious sunshine!
LifeFest 21 took place today from 10:00 until 13:00 inside the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster. The event included testimonies, live Q&As, and workshops from leading pro-life speakers as well as short films, music, and much more.
The march itself began from behind The Emmanuel Centre at 13:30 and finished in Parliament Square, where there was a stage set up for public speeches and testimonies. Please keep the pro-life movement, which is across faiths and none, in your prayers. This week's Bulletin is now ready on the home page. A quick reminder that the bulletin is now found on the Home page of the Website. Please read about the preparations we are making for the first Celebration of our Parish Feast Day in October. The Feast Day is October 12th but we will be making our main celebrations on Sunday October 10th when the Archbishop will be joining us.

The 5 week section of the lectionary in year B on the Eucharist is interrupted this year with the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady falling on a Sunday. In Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution on the church from Vatican II we read in paragraph 68: "Mary as the Mother of Jesus, glorified in body and soul in heaven, is the image and beginning of the Church as it is to be perfected is the world to come, so too does she shine forth on earth, until the day of the Lord shall come, as a sign of sure hope and solace to the people of God during its sojourn on earth." This is the cause of our celebrations on this great summer feast day! In this beautiful image from Santa Maria in Trastevere in Rome we see Mary welcomed by Jesus as the first to follow him into the glory of heaven.
The bulletin is ready on the Online Activities and Bulletin page. At Mass this weekend, we are now in 3rd of 5 Sundays where the readings focus on different aspects of the Eucharist. Above we see the scene from the first reading where Elijah is starving and has fallen asleep and is woken by an angel who has provided him with food for the journey.
The Eucharist is the food that sustains us in our spiritual life. What is it we need sustaining for though? The second reading from St Paul to the Ephesians describes the way of life we are called to by God: a life of kindness and forgiveness. It is a lovely image, but one which, we all know, can be very hard work at times! This is why we need the spiritual nourishment of the Holy Eucharist. Click here for this week's bulletin. Beginning last Sunday and then for the next 4 weeks, the gospel each Sunday is taken from St John, chapter 6. Each week we will be reflecting on different aspects of this great sacrament. Paragraph 1324 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church calls the Eucharist “the source and summit of the Christian Life.” In today's gospel Jesus explains that working for God means believing in the one he has sent, that is Jesus himself. Let us pray that our belief and faith in the Real Presence of the Eucharist may grow ever deeper.
The Bulletin is now ready to download from the Online Activities and bulletin page. Do not forget to check the guidelines in the previous post and remember, it is no longer necessary to book to attend Mass. As each of our three churches are very different styles of building, we have different guidelines for each Church. Please click below for the particular guidelines for the church you are attending.
If you get a chance please watch this excellent edition of Songs of Praise. It is filmed in our local Catholic Heritage site, Boscobel House and the Robinson family give a wonderful witness to their Catholic Faith, as does Frank Skinner!
Click the link below to watch the program. Although it says BBC1, it was moved to BBC Two because of the Olympics. This Monday is the feast of SS Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. Pope Francis has decreed that the nearest Sunday to this feast should from now on each year be dedicated to Grandparents and the Elderly. This day provides a moment to stop and thank God for our grandparents and for the treasure of our elderly relatives and parishioners. Our families and parish communities would be impoverished without their wealth of experience and wisdom. So, we thank God for them today and ask God’s blessings upon them. As this feast becomes a tradition each year, let’s think of ways we can celebrate this in future years.
The bulletin is now ready to download from the "Online activities and Bulletin" page. The meeting arranged for tomorrow, Saturday 24th August to discuss the diocesan vision has had to be postponed. Please let any friends know who do not regularly access the internet.
Many Thanks, Fr Mark Covid Regulations at Mass after July 19th
The guidelines we have received from the bishops encourage us to continue to create a safe environment in places of worship. For this reason, we will still be asking everyone to wear face coverings inside church, although it is no longer a legal requirement. Singing will only be permitted if people are wearing facemasks. In terms of social distancing, the bishops have proposed that we either designate certain Masses as socially distanced Masses or designate certain areas of the church which would remain for social distancing. In order for us to plan how to respond to this, everyone will be asked before they enter Mass this weekend whether they would prefer in the future to remain socially distanced or whether they would be happy to return to normal seating. Once we have collected this data, we will be able to decide how we organise each Mass. As we cannot do this till after this weekend, we will continue with the same system for booking Mass next weekend and make the changes on the weekend of July 31st / August 1st. We will however be able to begin singing next weekend. Sadly, due to a case of Covid, all those in the year 6 bubble at St Michael's School have had to self-isolate. This means we cannot proceed with the Confirmations this evening. The date has now been fixed for September 27th. Please keep our young people and their families in your prayers as this will come as a great disappointment for them.
Today is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. Today’s second collection is for Stella Maris (Apostleship of the Sea), the Catholic Church’s official maritime welfare agency. It supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. For an appeal talk from Bishop Paul Mason, and a video showing some of what Stella Maris does, please visit www.stellamaris.org.uk/SeaSunday This collection is vital to enable Stella Maris to continue its important work. To donate, please visit www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate or text ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5. Stella Maris is dependent on voluntary donations, so please give generously. Thank you.
